These terms apply to the Battery Monitor app, to account.batterieslab.gr, portal.batterieslab.gr and passport.batterieslab.gr (together, "the services"), provided by ELLINIKES BATARIES G.P. (ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΕΣ ΜΠΑΤΑΡΙΕΣ Ο.Ε.), trading as Batterieslab, Papanastasiou 31B, 57001 Thermi, Greece, VAT number EL803297204 ("we"). By using the services you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

1. The services

  • Battery Monitor shows your battery's condition, history and faults, over Bluetooth or, for batteries with an IoT tracker, over the mobile network. It lets you change some battery settings, open support cases, and ask the AI battery assistant.
  • The partner portal lets our partners (distributors and installers) manage the batteries they sold or installed, their customers' cases, quotes and orders.
  • The battery passport is public: anyone who scans a battery's label can see its model, its technical and environmental data and its state of health.

The services are provided as they are, and they change over time. We may add, change or remove features.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 15 years old to create an account.
  • Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Give correct details, and keep them up to date.
  • Accounts are never deleted for inactivity once confirmed. Guest accounts with no data are deleted after 30 days without activity, and email sign-ups that are never confirmed or used after 7 days. Accounts moved from our previous app are never deleted this way.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or at account.batterieslab.gr. The privacy policy says what is deleted and what is kept.

3. Your battery and its data

  • The services show the data your battery reports. Readings can be late, incomplete or wrong, for example when the connection drops. Don't rely on the app alone for decisions about safety.
  • Follow the battery's manual and safety instructions. If a battery is damaged, swells, overheats, smells or smokes, stop using it, keep away from it, and contact us or your installer.
  • Change settings only if you understand what they do. Some settings affect how the battery behaves.
  • Readings are shared with the partner who sold or installed the battery, and feed the battery's public passport (without any details about you).
  • Your battery's warranty is set out in the Batterieslab Limited Warranty (https://account.batterieslab.gr/warranty [[REVIEW: reviewer to confirm]]), not in these terms.

4. The AI battery assistant

  • Answers are generated automatically by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) and can be incomplete or wrong. They are general information, not professional advice, and don't replace our support, a qualified installer or the battery's manual.
  • Never act on an answer in a way that could be unsafe, such as opening a battery or bypassing its protections.
  • Each plan has a monthly limit on prompts.
  • Don't use the assistant to produce unlawful or harmful content.

5. Subscriptions

  • AI plans are sold through the App Store or Google Play, at the price the store shows. The store handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms.
  • A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your store account, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription: cancel it in the store.
  • Refunds are requested from the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer, for example when the service is not as described. [[REVIEW: reviewer to confirm]]

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • break the law, or other people's rights, through the services;
  • access accounts, batteries or data you aren't allowed to;
  • try to get around security checks, limits or the battery's protections;
  • overload, reverse engineer, copy or resell the services, except as the law allows;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful, offensive or not yours to share.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning when the breach can be fixed.

7. Partners

A partner admin is responsible for the users they invite and for removing those who leave. Partners use the data of their customers' batteries only to support those customers.

8. Intellectual property

The services, the app, the battery passport and our brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them under these terms. What you send us (messages, photos) stays yours; you let us use it to provide the services and support you.

9. Liability

  • We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for death or personal injury.
  • For slight negligence, we are liable only when we breach an essential obligation of these terms, and only for the damage that could be foreseen when the breach happened.
  • We are not liable for damage caused by using a battery against its manual or safety instructions, by settings you change, by readings that are late or wrong because the connection failed, or by acting on an AI answer against the battery's instructions, unless we caused it intentionally or through gross negligence.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law, including product liability under Greek consumer protection law (Law 2251/1994), or your rights under the battery's warranty. [[REVIEW: reviewer to confirm]]

10. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top and tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they apply. If you don't accept them, you can stop using the services and delete your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes go to the courts of Thessaloniki. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim before the courts where you live, and you keep the protection that the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you.

If you are a consumer, you can also refer a dispute to the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr), an independent authority for the out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes.
