Version 1.0, effective from [[PLACEHOLDER: date of publication (cutover day)]]
1. About this warranty
Batterieslab warrants every Dynamis Akeraios battery against defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years from the date of purchase or 6,000 charge cycles, whichever comes first, if the battery is registered within 30 days of purchase, in the Battery Monitor app or by email (section 4).
The warranty is given by ELLINIKES BATARIES G.P. (ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΕΣ ΜΠΑΤΑΡΙΕΣ Ο.Ε.), trading as Batterieslab, Papanastasiou 31B, 57001 Thermi, Greece, VAT number EL803297204, GEMI number 194045805000 ("Batterieslab", "we", "us"). It covers the end user who bought the battery, and later owners as set out in section 9 ("you").
Repairs and replacements under this warranty are free of charge; shipping is at your cost (section 7). This warranty is given in addition to your statutory rights and does not limit them (section 10).
2. Covered products
This warranty covers the following Dynamis Akeraios lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, identified by the model and serial number on the battery's label.
| Model | Nominal voltage | Rated capacity |
|---|---|---|
| DA12100 | 12.8 V | 100 Ah |
| DA12200 | 12.8 V | 200 Ah |
| DA12300 | 12.8 V | 300 Ah |
| DA24100 | 25.6 V | 100 Ah |
| DA24200 | 25.6 V | 200 Ah |
| DA36100 | 38.4 V | 100 Ah |
| DA48100 | 51.2 V | 100 Ah |
The rated capacity in this table is the reference for the capacity guarantee in section 5.
3. Warranty period and registration
Registration is a condition of this warranty. The 5-year warranty applies only to batteries registered within 30 days of the date of purchase, in the Battery Monitor app or by email (section 4). A battery registered later, or not at all, is not covered by this warranty. Your statutory rights against the seller still apply in full (section 10).
- Start: the date of purchase on your invoice or receipt. If you can't show proof of purchase, the date of manufacture recorded by Batterieslab.
- End: 5 years after the start date, or when the battery reaches 6,000 charge cycles, whichever comes first. Cycles are counted by the battery's BMS. The app shows an estimated end date; keep your proof of purchase, which confirms the dates when you make a claim.
- Professional installation: your dealer or installer can help you register at handover, but register the battery to your own account: whoever registers it first becomes its owner in the app, and nobody else can register it after that. If it was registered to someone else's account, contact us and we will move it to yours.
- Battery banks: register each battery in a series or parallel bank separately.
4. How to register your battery
Registration takes a few minutes. Do it within 30 days of purchase.
- Install Battery Monitor by Batterieslab from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in: create an account with your email address and confirm it, or sign in with Google or Apple. You can't register a battery as a guest.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and stay close to the battery.
- Connect to the battery: select it in the list of nearby batteries, and check that the serial number matches the label.
- Tap ⋯ at the top right, then Register battery.
- The app confirms the registration, and the battery is now linked to your account.
If you can't use the app, email your battery's serial number and your proof of purchase to info@batterieslab.gr within 30 days of purchase, and we will register it for you.
If registration fails, contact us before the 30 days run out and we will help you complete it. A battery already registered to someone else can't be registered again in the app: ask its owner to transfer it to you (section 9), or contact us.
5. What is covered
During the warranty period we cover failures caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, when the battery was installed and used as described in the Dynamis Akeraios user manual. This includes:
- Cells and internal construction: defective cells, internal connections, busbars, terminals and casing.
- Battery management system (BMS): failure of the BMS to protect, balance or monitor the cells, and hardware failure of the built-in Bluetooth module.
- Premature capacity loss: usable capacity below 70% of the rated capacity in section 2 before the warranty ends (5 years or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first).
We measure capacity at 25 °C ± 5 °C, after a full charge to the specified charge voltage, by discharging at 0.2C to the BMS low-voltage cut-off. A gradual loss of capacity that stays at or above 70% is normal ageing, not a defect.
To assess a claim we may use the data the BMS records and the app uploads, such as cycle count, voltages, currents, temperatures, faults and protection events.
6. What is not covered
This warranty doesn't cover damage or failure caused by:
- Installation errors: reverse polarity, loose or undersized cables, a missing fuse or circuit protection, or an installation that doesn't follow the user manual.
- Incorrect charging: chargers, alternators, solar controllers or inverters not set for LiFePO4, or charge voltages or currents above the specification.
- Unsupported configurations: series or parallel connections the user manual doesn't allow, or mixing batteries of different models, capacities, ages or makes in one bank.
- Operation outside the limits: charging, discharging or storage outside the specified temperature, voltage or current ranges.
- Deep discharge and neglect: leaving the battery fully discharged, or storing it without following the storage instructions.
- Physical and environmental damage: impact, dropping, crushing, puncture, immersion or water beyond the stated protection rating, fire, flood, lightning or other events beyond our control.
- Tampering: opening the casing, modifying the battery or BMS, installing firmware we didn't supply, or removing or altering the label or serial number.
- Unsuitable use: applications the user manual says the battery isn't designed for, such as engine starting above the rated peak current.
- Normal wear: gradual capacity loss within the limit in section 5, and cosmetic marks that don't affect performance.
The Battery Monitor app is provided separately, under its own terms of use. Problems with the app or your phone that don't come from a defect in the battery are not covered by this warranty.
7. How to make a claim
Contact us before the warranty period ends. You can also go to the seller, who will pass your claim to us.
- Safety first. If the battery is swollen, hot, smoking or smells unusual, disconnect it if it's safe to do so, keep clear, and contact us. Don't charge or use it.
- Contact us in the app (⋯, then Warranty request, on a registered battery) or at
info@batterieslab.gr, with:
- the battery's serial number and the email address of your app account;
- your proof of purchase;
- a description of the problem, with photos of the battery and the installation.
- Diagnostics. We may ask you to connect to the battery with the app so that its data reaches us, or ask you about the installation.
- Assessment. We reply within 2 working days with our assessment or the next steps.
- Return, if needed. We send you a return authorisation and shipping instructions. Lithium batteries are dangerous goods (UN3480, class 9): never ship a battery without our instructions.
Shipping the battery to us and back is at your cost, whether or not we accept the claim. Because lithium batteries are dangerous goods, we arrange the shipment and tell you its cost before it is sent. If we reject the claim because the fault isn't covered, we may also charge for the inspection; we tell you that cost first, and charge nothing you haven't agreed to. Your legal guarantee against the seller stays free of charge (section 10). [[REVIEW: shipping at the customer's cost. This text uses option B: a plain commercial guarantee (Directive (EU) 2019/771 art. 17(1), first subparagraph), whose conditions may include who pays shipping. Option A would keep the "commercial guarantee of durability" given by the producer: art. 17(1) then makes us liable for repair or replacement in accordance with art. 14, which requires remedies free of charge, postage included (art. 2(14)), so we would have to pay shipping both ways. Confirm option B holds although the warranty guarantees capacity for 5 years or 6,000 cycles, which may make it a durability guarantee in substance.]]
8. What we will do
If we accept your claim, we repair the battery or replace it with the same model or one of equal or better specification, free of charge. Replacements may be new or refurbished to as-new specification. If we can neither repair nor replace it, we refund the price you paid for the battery.
- Warranty on repairs and replacements: a repaired or replacement battery is covered for the rest of the original warranty (in time and cycles), or for 6 months, whichever is longer. We move the registration to the replacement battery.
- Replaced parts: batteries and parts we replace become our property.
- Other costs: removal and reinstallation labour, travel, vessel or vehicle haul-out, and other costs beyond the battery itself are not covered, unless the law requires otherwise.
9. Selling or giving away your battery
The warranty passes to a new owner for the rest of the warranty period once the battery is registered to the new owner's account. The current owner can transfer the battery to the new owner in the app, with a one-time code; or the new owner contacts us with the serial number and we move the registration. The warranty carries over, and the purchase date stays with the battery. The 30-day registration deadline applies only to the first purchase.
10. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer, you have a legal guarantee that doesn't depend on registering your battery. Under the Greek Civil Code and Law 2251/1994, as amended by Law 4967/2022 (which implements Directive (EU) 2019/771), the seller is liable for any lack of conformity that exists when the battery is delivered and becomes apparent within two years.
- Under the legal guarantee you are entitled, free of charge, to have the battery brought into conformity by repair or replacement, or to a price reduction or to end the contract, as the law provides.
- You exercise these rights against the seller. This warranty, whether you registered the battery, and any condition in this document don't affect them.
- This document is a commercial guarantee that Batterieslab gives as the producer. During the warranty period we are directly liable to you for repair or replacement under the conditions set out here.
If you bought the battery for your business, this document sets out our warranty obligations, to the extent the law allows.
11. Data protection, liability and governing law
Data protection. To register your battery and handle claims, we process your account details, the battery's serial number, your purchase details and the data the BMS records and the app uploads. ELLINIKES BATARIES G.P. is the controller of this data under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679). Our privacy policy has the details: https://account.batterieslab.gr/privacy [[REVIEW: reviewer to confirm]].
Limitation of liability. To the extent the law allows, our liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies in section 8, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of use, vessel or vehicle downtime, lost income or damage to other equipment. This doesn't limit our liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, under product liability law, or under your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law. This warranty is governed by Greek law. Disputes go to the courts of Thessaloniki; a consumer can also bring proceedings before the courts where they live. Consumers can also contact the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr).
Version. The version of this warranty in force on your date of purchase applies to your battery.
